Morning and happy Wednesday to you all! Today lets chat about the MET GALA.
Funny thing about the MET is that it wasn’t until this year, when fashion truly became both my passion and profession, that I discovered that the MET GALA is actually a sort of fund raiser for fashion. According to the New York Times, “…it’s a black-tie extravaganza held the first Monday in May to raise money for the Costume Institute (a.k.a. the fashion department), the only one of the Met’s curatorial departments that has to fund itself.”
One fascinating thing I noticed with the fashion at this years MET GALA was that they really incorporated technology. According to a lot of my fashion marketing friends, technology is heavily influencing fashion. So, all this said, lets take a look at who and what I loved:
1.KATE HUDSON: It can be said that I may very well have a girl crush on Kate, I chatted about her in last weeks post in regards to her snap. Well she is back at it again with her gorgeous self in this Atelier Versace dress. I love the triangular, edgy, shapes at the top of the dress while at the bottom it flows and falls into this beautiful ball gown.
2. Then there was Lady Gaga. Her ensemble was bold and really reflected where technology is going with fashion. Her ten inch platforms are mega goals for yours truly (check out my post on platforms). The silver and gun metal color palette with all the crystals just screams technology. Also that hair tho! #lovingit
Also how much do we love this photo of Kate and Lady Gaga?
3. Then there was Zoe Saldana! I mean seriously!!!!?!!! She could not look any more gorgeous in this dramatic feathered gown.
4. Last but not least, Emma Watson. Aside from the fact that this may be the most gorgeous dress of the night, in my opinion, the dress is made entirely out of recycled paper. It was designed by Calvin Klein and I am just obsessed! So innovative.
QUESTION OF THE DAY: How are you?😎💋❤︎
